Birthday Memoirs and Life of Popular SA based Nigerian Deejay Sulex.

Deejay Sulex
The much publicized Exclusive Black Costume Birthday Party of Nigerian, South African based, popular respected Deejay Sulex held last week at Pretoria's prestigious Nite club, Europa, with several after parties held in other clubs and lounges all through the week.
The classic birthday show was well represented by SA based entertainers like Sho lee, St Seaba, Dudu, Lucci Gucci, Dj funn, Dj Kool, Bomb shelter entertainment, as well as reigning gagacious Nigerian music artiste Chuddy K, and other top ballerz...
With the fading euphoria, deejay Sulex brings back memoirs of the celebration as well as sharing his unique lifestyle to Olori Wendy for all to know.

Congratulations on your recent birthday and successful celebrations. Your Black costume birthday party was awesome, however, why the colour "black"? What does it signify?

Actually it is just to have something different from every other sleek party, as you know, you can't go wrong with a black outfit. So having a black costume dress code, I guess it is unique.
Something different from every other party.

You seem to have been here (South Africa) quite awhile, how long have you been in this country and what motivated you to pursue your career here?

I have been living here for precisely fourteen years (14) now. First of all, it was for the love of the music because i love partying a lot. My room mates then used to complain Lol.
I actually got to discover myself when things were very rough and could not even have a daily meal. Besides I've always had the love for music and thought I could be a Deejay.

Obviously, you are quite recognized and successful in your career here despite there are other Nigerian Deejays playing here as well. What's the magic?

The magic is I'm hard working and focused, then God's blessings.

Deejays are highly celebrated here, especially financially, would you say SA based Deejays earn better than their Nigerian counterparts, and why?

Ahh !!! nah !!!, not really, I feel wherever you are is all about God's favour, the difference between here and Nigeria is twenty-four (24) hours electricity. It makes things more easier and faster.

Is there a reason all songs in South Africa follow the same Kwaito beat, even when mixed with other genres of music?

Coming to SA music, yea!!, They do have good music but I guess less talents. It's like most artistes kind of follow same patterns here compared to Nigeria, Perhaps there could be other reasons.

What's your most memorable moment (good or bad) playing at a gig?

Hmmm !!!, guess one of my good memory was at Nelspruit 2002, because lots of people couldn't believe I'm a Nigerian playing good South African music.
Also, you know how it is with deejay's, girls !!! girls !!! girls !!!, met with this crazy one, she was all over my life, both at work and private life, got me locked up for months for the fact she knew I was trying to skip her.

Is there any other business you are involved in or you would say this form of entertainment is highly rewarding to pay your bills?

Yea, all my life is based on the industry. There is a saying that cut your coat according to your size. I don't go beyond my limit, I don't need to impress anyone.

Obviously we have more of male deejays around the world, In your opinion is it harder for girl to become famous deejay?

For me it is once she is good at what she is doing, she just need to keep it up with time, she will definitely be there. Though there could be challenges as nothing good comes easy in life.

How long have you been a DeeJay and What inspired you to become a deejay? Were your family in support when you began this line of career?

I have been a deejay for twelve (12) years now my family gave me their full support. I got inspired by my immediate big brother Toyin Yusuf known as Legal mixer then.

Your favorite song? Your favorite artiste?, Best genre? Best preference; old skool or new skool?

Lol, I love all good music preferably hiphop and dancehall. I have got lots of favorite artistes ok. Old skool is Bobby Brown, New skool is Wizkid.

Below are other pictures of the Exclusive Black Costume Party held in Europa.

A memorable interview with Nigerian born, SA based popular saxophonist Ayo Solanke

Ayo Solanke
Being a jazz lover, I was fortunate to be invited to a Jazz night, where Nigerian born, SA based popular saxophonist Ayo Solanke was performing his Live Gig. Having heard but never met the musician earlier, I was impressed by his performance and surprised myself dancing to the melodious and flawless tunes.
Appreciating his music, I had no choice than to chat with him to know further about his world of music..
Beautiful performance at your Winnies, Wendywood Gig!, fantastic band !! What is unique about your band? ...

First of all I would like to say that I don't just have a band but I've got a team.
The most unique thing about my team is that we are family.
I've known and have been working with some the guys for as long as 6 years so we watch each other's back as a family, respect each other and do our job excellently as professionals
Llewelyn George plays the Piano, keyboards and back up Vocals
Eddie Steyn handles the Bass Guitar and back up Vocals
Leeroy Sauls Drums and back up Vocals
Bongiwe Silinda is the Lead and back up vocalist
I, Ayo Solanke is in charge of Saxophones and I'm a dancer, lol !!.

How long do you have to rehearse for each show? What does rehearsals entail?

Rehearsals time and schedule are not always fixed as it depends on the nature of the performance but I would say we spend between two to five rehearsals of at least four to eight hours to prepare
The real task of rehearsals is the repertoire (song selection) which as I mentioned earlier; depends on the occasion, event or venue.
Once we decide on the material needed, we get together, learn the songs as a team, decide how exactly we want it to sound.
However, one thing that has always made the task productive is working from a list, that way we are able to track our progress and build up from there

What kind of jazz artiste are you and why that stream of music?

I am a Jazz and Soul saxophonist with Afro-contemporal influences.
I didn't chose my style or my sound, it chose me.
I found myself drawn to this particular sound and can't seem to be able to resist exploring it more and more. It is the one sound that's most natural to me. So, I didn't choose it, it drew me with it's beauty just as child is drawn to a bird.

You are a Nigerian based in South Africa, why South Africa and not any part of the world? How has the journey been so far in a foreign land? .

I came to South Africa for the first time out of curiosity, to explore and find out what was the success secret of the South African music industry that caused it to be one of the most organized in the African continent and also to learn from the people and hopefully integrate some of those things in my music.

However, the journey like every one has been filled with every emotion of life you can imagine; there's been great days, good days, normal days and challenging days but in all, it's been a character building experience. I came here with the expectation of meeting, working with and associating with the best and my experience has been nothing short of that.

Do you feel fulfilled doing what you do and where you are now, is there something else you would have done besides playing the Sax?

My best days are those days when I'm on stage and playing with everything inside of me like it's going to be my last one, and the more like it is when I'm done playing to have someone walk up to me and say "You touched my heart tonight" for me, that is a good reason to be alive. To realize that the sound I've been blessed with is reaching out to lift up someone else up is much more fulfilling than anything else. So, yes I am happy I am doing what I do and I looking forward to an even greater life doing this on a bigger platform, touching more lives and giving people hope through my sound and life.
Another verse of me is about to unfold, this will be the crowning chapter of the chapters of my life. I am bringing more than just music to the table. Stay tuned, lol

I would have been an Engineer, specialize in creating new things and solving the most difficult problems. Besides, I've always loved improvising in the absence of the right tools or equipment. For example, I once put out the fire from a burning car by whipping it  with three branches and realized afterwards that some of it got onto my skin. I love solving problems.

What are you presently up to?

I'm presently finalizing my debut album and it is sounding great.
The project started in Nigeria and it is being concluded here in South Africa so, we've got the best of both worlds on one album. I'm excited about the outcome so far and I know that people will LOVE it!

Where has music taken you?

I've had the opportunity of being to places like Australia, Figi Island, Dubai, Swaziland through the favor of my maker on my music and I believe there's more to come. I've also had the opportunity of working with notable artists and producers such as Hugh Masakela, Judith Sephuma, Ron Kennoly, Jimmy Dludlu, Asa, Recorded and worked with Cobhams, Wole Oni.
I've played on several festivals such as the Cape Town Jazz festival, Standard bank Joy of Jazz, Macufe Jazz festival.
I have also been on TV shows such as Gospel Classics, featured on a Christmas edition of the One Gospel In-Concert just to mention a few.

What's your most memorable performance?

One day in UNILAG Main Auditorium at a Concert organized by TREMN I played so well because the sound was so good that at some point it felt like my feet was going off the floor almost as if I was flying in the air or as if my spirit was going to jump out of me and fly around the room, it was an experience I will never forget in my life.
Another day I will never forget was in Benin, when I went to play for a conference and the power of God was all over the place such that people could not control themselves anymore for hours as I played some things that day that I couldn't even understand, that was a great honor

On the other hand, an embarrassing one was the day I went play at YABATECH
I was invited up, I spoke to th people and when it was time to play, my sax wasn't working. One of the screws had fallen off and it would have been a disaster but luckily enough there was another saxophonist at the same program so he allowed me to use his sax. It was not the same but it could have been worse if the other sax wasn't there and since that day, I try to spend an hour before going on stage to check and make sure my sax is in perfect shape

Inspirational words to share ?

All that I am and all that I will ever be I owe to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is the real one working behind the scene.

Challenges and trials do not come to punish us but to polish us but our attitude during a challenging situation will determine the outcome, if our attitude is good and positive we emerge as winners but if it's poor, filled with murmuring and complaints we miss out on the goodness contained in the test. So, no matter what comes your way always remember the end will always be better than the beginning.
Thank you

Anny, a woman of faith and hope bares her heart on her music career and world.

Anny's interview
Anny

Anny, a woman of faith and hope bares her heart on her music career and world in an exclusive interview with Olori Wendy.

Tell us more about Anny, educational, childhood, and family background?
Anny is my stage name, my real names are Anne Emmanuel Ibrahim. I am from Delta state, from Ethiope West LG and from Jesse town to be more precised.  I am a very down to earth person. I love sincere people, I love God and I am a very relationship minded person. I am a wife, mother, entrepreneur and most of all, I am a musician.
I have HND in Banking and finance from the Kano State Polytechic and also a masters degree holder from Bayero University kano. I am the 4th of 6 children
How long have you been involved with music?
Music for me started at a very young age of eleven. When I joined my church children's choir and later graduated to the adult choir, from where i started writing my songs and here i am today
Why gospel music?
Gospel because
1. I grew up singing gospel music and learned a lot about music doing gospel.
2. Because no one can give what they dont have, singing praises to God was the key for me due to my foundation, hence gospel
3. Because it is my duty to preach the good news which is what gospel is about.
Has there been any challenges so far, especially as people assume it is easier with gospel music?
Haa that is a very wrong assumption o. We all have same challenges. Even more for the gosple artist. We pay same amount for producers and director just to keep the pace up and to bring out quality stuff too. Aside that, we have the challenge of piracy etc
For me combining family and business has been the challenge but I am moving forward will the help of my family.
What inspires your songs?
I get inspired by things that happen in my life and my surroundings. I write songs when I am sad and do same when am happy. I am presently working on a Peace and Love song featuring different artistes from differnt parts of Nigeria. But most of all God inspires me the most.
What have you benefited so far in your music career?
Well, a lot o. I will not deny that fact that music has given me so much both material and good friendships. It has given me fame too. The list is endendless
My awards and various nominations are also some of the benefits of music o. The best gosple artist at the 2010 Women in entertainment and art in the UK, two times nominations at the NMVA (nigeria music video awards) for best gospel. Also the best music video at the national gosple wards. Best female gosple art at the nigeria gospel awards. And the most recent nomination is the one for the upcoming Crystal Awards were i got nominated for the best music video( Woruno) and best collaboration.
What are you presently up to in your music career?
Hmmmm.... So many things actually. I have been working on new songs. Planning to bring out my next single maybe singles, cos i intend to release the Peace song first before my other songs. The Peace is more pressing and more important to me right now giving by what is going on in the country and around the world. I am not happy with the unrest in Nigeria presently. I am also putting finishing touches to my Peace and Love concert. It is my own way of giving back to the society. The concert is billed to hold on the 29th of June at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki by 5pm. I am also planning to shoot a video before the year ends.

What's your most memorable moment, positively and negatively, on stage?
Lol, negatively will be when I fell on the stage while singing and dancing at a concert in Yola....i mistakenly stepped on the long flowing dress I wore. Hmmm i even fractured my foot. And then positively will be the times I had to do collabo with various artistes and performed for the president
Besides music, are you involved in any other business?
Yes, I am into the fashion business. I run an outfit called "Purple Wardrobe". We deal on clothes, shoes, bag etc. I believe that looking good is good business.
Is there anything you want people to know about Anny as well as words of encouragement for aspiring artistes?
I want people to know that being a gospel artiste does not limit my versatility as an artiste. I am able to write and sing love songs, peace, inspirational as much as i can sing pure christian religious songs.
I want to encourage everyone to be focused in their various fields not just music. To believe they can be successful if they put their minds to it. And most of all to know that no matter what our dreams and aspirations are, only God is able to bring them to reality.

Edo State Top Personality, Prince Kassim Afegbua, reveals his views on State and Personal Matters

Prince Kassim Afegbua

Prince Kassim Afegbua, a first degree graduate in English, with Post graduate in Public Relations, bares his mind on his job as the Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs to comrade Governor Adams Oshiomhole as well as on Politics, Leadership, Democracy and Nigeria, and likewise his Social Life.

Insight to Prince Kassim Afegbua?

I'm a politician, media person and also into  fashion. I have been in politics for sixteen years, from grass root democratic movement in Abacha days, to PDP to National Democratic Party, then rose to acting chairman of NDP, served as director general of that party. However, for nine years, I have been media spokesman for general Babangida, served as special adviser, media and public affairs to comrade Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Your Role as a Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs?

My role is to interface between the Governor and the people, trying to simplify true communication, the essential policy focus of the administration.
I try as much as possible to explain to the people the motive, intentions and governance aspirations to the people in the various section of the states economy.

I speak for the Governor, on television, radio, and newspaper.
I advise him on what to do because issues come up,

Your View About Your Governor's Leadership?

His leadership is anchored on the maxim. Let the people lead. That means, since the people are the repository of power, you must give them every room to express themselves and their perception about governance in the state.
The governance is a result driven one, with special emphasis on infrastructural development, human capacity development, and a clear cut policy that caters for the generality of the people of the state, which I have keyed into that, that's why I'm serving in the administration. The Governor is on his second term. So he's leveraging on the economic infrastructure of his first term to create jobs opportunities and employment opportunities for a greater percentage of the population as a deliberate policy to take Edo state to the next level.
Black Queen, Prince Kassim Afegbua, Prince Abudul Dirisu

What Do You Think About Democracy In Nigeria?

Nigeria democracy is usually called Nigerianized democracy because in most cases it defies all the conventional principles of democracy. But we are happy that we are gradually making progress through a conscious and well mobilized electorate that are beginning to take their destinies in their own hands. We may not have gotten it right but with more pluck, we will get there some day.

Rate on Nigeria Elections?

We are making progress in the area of credible election. Edo and Ondo state are good examples of good elections. Once we have credible opposition, then the level of abuses by the ruling party will be minimized and that will give room for credible election.

State On Corruption?

Corruption is very endemic in Nigeria, because of weak laws, and ineffective enforcement of prosecuted cases. So to that extent we will continue to have abuses until such a time when there are strong institutions to check mate the discretionary power of individuals and the monopoly of it. Corruption is defined as monopoly plus discretion minus accountability

What Hope For Nigeria and Leadership?

I have hope as a Nigerian that things will get better, I'm also proud to be a Nigerian, each time I travel out I see myself as a nobody, but when I'm in my country of one hundred and sixty million (160m) people, I see myself as somebody. Democratic dictatorship kind of a leader is what will work for Nigeria, the person should be elected as a democrat but should be dictatorial in his action, he will deploy courage, strong political will and unequivocal determination to tackle corruption and other anti-developmental vices

Your political dream?

My political dream is to be president of Nigeria, starting from the presidency. I'm not going to contest for any other election.

Fashion World?

I have an outfit called Raff and Kay fashion concept where fabrics speak the language of style, if we feel the texture of your fabric, then we know the style that will be suitable for it to suit your taste and expectations. We are barely one year old and have lots of distinguished Nigerians on our list of clients. It is exclusively owned by me. Raff is the abbreviation for my wife's name and my two kids and Kay is my own.

Social Life?

After too much work,I sleep, I read books and I watch football. I don't party, I'm a one man riot squad, me n me and my family.

HRM, The Okhuokphelagbe of Okpella Kingdom

What can you disclose about the Okpella Kingdom, history wise?

History wise, We are from benin, we come from benin, the okpella you hear today is somebody who is Okpei, he is the son of Ipomosa, who came with his father Ipomosa to this community. Okpei because of a dispute with a prince of the Benin kingdom at that time, over a lady on marriage, and because nobody dares argues with a prince of the monarchy of Benin, had to leave Benin totally, go into a wilderness, walked into a place called Opuzobe, that's where we have the Okpella of today. He married a woman called  Eveva, who gave birth to four kids, Obute, Ase, both male children, the third a female, Ekure, and the fourth a male named Onmegere. Those four children are of the conception of Eveva and Okpei, known as Okpella kingdom today.

What are the people of Okpella known for?

The people of Okpella are known for farming, cash crops, yam, anything farming, Okpella is known for that.

Wendy having a chat with the King

What are the challenges you have had as the leader here?

Well, there are normal challenges, disputes, land disputes between villages, one village to the other, when they arrive I settle them all

What is your daily routine like?

Daily schedule is very business wise, to the fact like today, I have held series of meetings. I am very careful in handling them otherwise you throw them into confusion, whether the matter is little or big, then they are very happy.

What are your rights as the Okhuokphelagbe in terms of acquires?

My rights are that as the traditional ruler of Okpella, wherever I want land is my land but I don't take land that belongs to another person. I take from the one nobody is already occupying. I tell the family, I am taking so so land to build so so on it. As right now I am building a palace extension. I take what is enough for me. I don't pay for the land.

Also, I have many wives, I don't count my wives and the same thing, children, I can't tell you, it is palace secret.

What are the social activities in this kingdom?

We have lots of festivals like Otu Itashe, Okure, Isoku, and many big festivals that we do. I wish anyone is going on now so u can witness it.
Wendy, The Okhuokphelagbe of Okpella Kingdom, Queen, and Oyinkansola at the palace of the monarch

The King during a function in the community

What would you like the Government to do for this community as their duty?

Government are supposed to give us good roads, build health centers, build schools, however, the Government is not forgetting us at all.

What are the taboos of this community?

Like Otu Itache, when that ceremony is starting, that is when we go to the ancestors area, no non indigent comes near. whenever a stranger come to the community, because it is not everybody that can come to me, we have village heads, chiefs, the person will go and introduce him or herself to the chief there, the chief will tell him or her the taboos and culture of this community.

What would you have loved to change in the culture of this community?

The ones we have now does not need to be changed but the only thing we tell them is that the ones that carry sacrifices should be aborted. We have only one God, we abolish killing of goats, cows to serve sticks and stones, because God is one. We celebrate our ceremonies to interest people according to the native laws and customs.

How long have you been the King and what are the notable changes you have brought to the community?

Yes, I'm almost going to forty two(42) years on the throne. I have brought lots of changes. There were few primary schools and one college, now we have colleges and many primary schools, all these are as a result of my effort to change the entire live of Okpella kingdom. We are moving with lives as it is upholding every where, everyday.

Congratulations Davina, it's no news you'll be getting married soon, but we'd like you to share the news.

I met my heartthrob, Senior Assistant to Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State on Diaspora, Mr Eric Nwadinobi few years ago at a function, however the day he proposed to me, he flew into Lagos from Umuahia unannounced to perform the ‘romantic ritual’ which took place at the star-studded audience at the Entertainment Express newspapers’ one year bash, which took me by surprise.
I had just finished performing my “Femi” love song when he stepped on the stage to perform the unexpected.
He brought out a ring and said  “We’ve known each other for almost three years now and I love everything about you. Please, will you marry me?” I was tearful as I said ‘Yes’, quite overwhelmed by the proposal.
Later I realised he had arranged with the Governor of the Niteshift Coliseum when he came to his office in Umuahia few weeks before then.

What are the details of your wedding you'd like to share?

Right now we are in "meeting d parent stage" which is planning on date and time to suite both sides of the family.

In a chat with a media promoter and Record Label Owner, Don Bookey, he reveals his darkest secret on internet fraud popularly known as Yahoo Yahoo !!!   Sharing his life and intricate details about the business.

What led you into it?
I grew up in a social hood as I can describe, went to a very well known great and social school of my time, so as at that point in time the way of making money apart from the monies your parents give you from the house is through gambling with video games, later we graduated to internet games as I know it, abiii !!! there's always a graduation for everyone......i started doing this because I need money to get myself expensive things, be among the best boys.
What have you achieved so far from it?
So far so good, thank God, though what am doing is bad, but a lot of our leaders and big people that we looking up to as big people today, most of them, their wealth background is negative, to my answer, my record label is my achievement which is based in Ghana & South Africa as an upcoming record label with amazing musicians.

Greatest lie ever told to a maga and paid off
Well greatest lie is making fake things real, but there are a lot, no great lies but the simplest is internet and food bill
Would you leave it after a while or is it like a career now?
I have already left internet fraud a couple of years now.
Have you ever gotten emotionally involved with a client?
You will definitely get emotionally involved, because life is full of feelings, but one thing is that, business is business and money first, so that have to be taken care of.
Have you ever felt guilty about your business?
I am never happy with this business, but simply what will man do? it is still better than robbery for all I care and after all it helps a lot of big youths you see in this whole wide world whether you intellectuals like it or not, that don't bother me.
Don Bookey
Have you ever been involved with the police? How safe is the business?
A lot of times, I've been involved with the police, even many of them in my community know me, but I thank God for my life , I have a career now.
Does your family know what you do? What do they think you're doing to make money?
My family don't know what am doing, until I traveled abroad many times, change my cars, buy land and things, then they started to suspect and eventually know, but one word, the child that brings money home is the child that the parents adore, not one who wanna die poor, am not from a wealthy home, omo ati apata dide !! Oyea #
Now that you are loaded, who are the ones benefiting from it?
My community, friends and families, people I don't know, the church of God, I help a lot of upcoming artists get career and get known for their good music both home and away, help people I can with what I can, life goes on.
Do you feel fulfilled?
I'm fulfilled, either u make it or not, you feel fulfilled in something, either bad or good, that's just it.
If not for the business, what would you have done?
Aeronautic Engineer , but who will foot the bill, I laugh out loud, because I was one of the perfect students of my set and that was my goal
What's your typical day like and how do you unwind?
I do media business, play video games, cards, casino, chill with girls, go to studio, suff the internet, clubbing.
People say yahoo doesn't pay off these days and what boys do is plus, what's your view about that?
Yahoo pay !!!, yahoo plus well I've never tried that. The name yahoo!, I don't call it that, in my days I call it internet fraud, anything fraud goes with your intelligent mind, how creative you are, either bad or good. If you are not intelligent you can't make it from yahoo, that's when you need to add plus , for me there's nothing like yahoo plus
Don Bookey's Swagg
Greatest regret so far?
I should have had about 5 houses or more, but I spent lavishly on alcohol, women and unnecessary show off.
I managed to get acres and my record label
What would you like to voice out for people to know?
Made too much cash, spent it lavishly, started investing when my cash started going away, but I thank God today I have a career now, more also to all the bad gee's out there, I love you so much, keep doing what you know how to do best, but start investing before it too late, if I advise you to stop, will I give you job or give you monies? No !!!, but stop when you get something from it, the game don't go for life, we have to be positive, that in reality, we can use the same brain we using for the fraud to do better things and we will be creative, I use the same brain in my media promotion field and my entertainment life, but one thing for sure I will voice out to NIGERIA is that their low opportunity in our community, F**K !!! and life goes on as well. I laugh out loud says DON BOOKEY.

One on One with Black Queen
Queen Blessing Ebigieson

What motivated you to go into acting and how has the journey been so far?

I would say my motivation was people cos they always said I talk like actresses and walk like models and d fact that times where very hard for me at that time, having to pay my way through school, look after my siblings etc.

What's your most challenging role in a movie?

My most challenging role, hmmmmmmm !!! to me, all my roles have been challenging. Acting is not easy as it seems on screens, it's a make-believe world where anything and everything has to look real.
For me all d roles I've done are challenging but if I must pick, then I would say my role in an empty coffin and my latest movie "lori ere".

How would you view the movie industry compared to when you started years ago. what are the relatives changes?

I would say it's better than when I started cos more people are producing now and the industry is going places, in teams of quality, we are now trying to do our movie the right way even though it's difficult I know i will get there someday

How many movies have you produced and what inspired the story-lines?

I've produced three (3) movies so far "Borokinni" is out, "Lori Ere" will be out soon, I launched it on the 28th of Oct here in Lagos, and the third one is "tami ni kan" which am almost done with. I just got back from India and Dubai where I shot some few clips.
The stories, hmmmmm !!!, I write what I see around me and what I know will contribute in changing Nigeria for the better, and I've acted in more than 40 movies, "Pretty Angels", "Moment of Joy", "Sweet Love", "Back 2 Back", " Lost Love", "Romantic Touch", "Missing U", "Okoloko", "Omo Butty" etc.
For soaps I acted in Super Story, "This Life", "Eldorado", "Gals Next Door" etc.

You recently launched a new movie, give us an insight about it?

The launching was to create awareness for the movie when it comes out, and I also used the opportunity to launch my foundation "Queen Blessing Foundation" for the less privileged. Right now we are supporting widows and we have five (5) of them that we have open little businesses for. I've also been going to other established motherless home to show our support

An actress was kidnapped at your launch but luckily found, how did it affect you and what's the story on the kidnap?

She was not kidnapped at my launching, she was kidnapped at Omole Estate, far from where my launching took place. My launch was at 1 akilo Road, off Oba Akran at Ikeja, now tell me was she kidnapped at my launching? I don't know why people added my name to that BC, even if Mr President is doing a party he will only provide security at the venue which I did too, the AIG of police, Mr Solomon Arase gave me police men from we started till the end of the event, even I, the celebrant when I was leaving, I left on my own.
Anyway, I was glad she escaped unharmed. "Make God no let us see bad thing". It is well, that all I can say.

Black is beautiful and you are absolutely beautiful, what is black to you as well as your fashion?

Yes !!!, you are right about that, black is beautiful, I love my complexion. Lots of people get attracted to me because of my skin colour first before they start seeing other qualities, so for that, I bless God everyday for creating me this dark and beautiful. Infact for u to know how much I love my complexion, my e-mail address is "blackqueen4live", my production name is "BQ productions", my aka is Black Queen.

My fashion, hmmmmmm !!!, fashion for me is what you make of it. I like clothes, shoes, bags etc. I wear what makes me comfortable not because others are wearing it. I love short dresses a lot, I like to keep it simple, chic and nice.

Besides acting, what other activities are you involved in?

Besides acting, hmmmmmm !!! I have a boutique, I 've a foundation, I'm a girl friend to a man who ways want my attention hahahaha !!!, I'm also a mother to the most handsome boy in d world so I have my hands full, I'm always busy.

What are you plans for christmas?

For me, everyday God gives me life is Christmas. I don't travel this period, my family comes to visit me cos I'm a mother to every member of my family. Both the old and young always love to be around me and I feel so loved when I see them, so for that reason I usually take my vacation b4 Christmas.

I'd like to wish my fans all d best at christmas and always, without them there is no BQ. keep buying and watching my movies and soaps etc. I love u .

What's your take on love and life?

Love is Life and Life is Love. We should just try our best no matter how hurt we might have been in the past. We should always give it a chance cos u never know......
