Dayo Ojo aka Akere
The influx of entertainers into Nigerian's second African home, South Africa, likewise lured Dayo Ojo, popularly known as Akere by his fans and associates, to experience and enjoy the music scene during the cold months of his warm visit.



How did u venture into music?


I ventured from church choir


You attend white garment church, was it prophesied that you do music?

Sis ! e pass prophecy o !!.


What's your education background like?

Had my Primary and Secondary school educations in Surulere Lagos after I gained admission to read political science at the University Lagos, Akoka Lagos.


Considering your educational background, you could have made your living in other benefiting practices, so was it for finance, passion, or fulfilling of prophesy?


Lol !!, you and this your prophesy !!, Truly, it's burn out of passion o. You know na politics dey for Naija now o, And na Him dey pay. I am a second class upper graduate of politics for real and if not for the love I suppose don go become P.A to Mr President.


How financially benefiting and fulfilling has it been since you started playing live on stage?

To the glory of God, it's been good but you can't quantify it monetarily,if we do the quantification monetarily man pikin go don swerve tey tey. But we bless God for His oprovidence which is more than physical cash


Your genre of music?


Gospel and contemporary


What is the difference between playing in South Africa and Nigeria?

No much difficulty once the session men are professional in their own right.


How do u get inspiration playing Live at events in hailing guests?


Music is a universal language so, if sung in Swahili, Zulu or Yoruba, once the ingredient is right, everybody will enjoy it. Showering encomiums on people at live parties and events is a by-product of tutelage and experience


Musicians always have distracting female fans, does it affect your relationship with the love of your life?


No, not at all. I thank God for an understanding wife and family at large.


Your view about SA, would you like to visit again?


Very good place to be. Good ambiance, organization and coordination. It's a good place. For your ears alone for now, I will be in again before the end of the year by His Grace.
