Gov. Okorocha Erects Billboard Of Him Shaking Hands With Obama

During President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent visit to the United States of America, on which he had some governors and political loyalists as entourage, one of which is the sash wearing Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha.
As it is obtained in diplomatic and official circles, where the host either welcomes his guest with warm handshake or kiss, governor Okorocha was privileged to have a handshake with President of the United States of America, Barrack Obama.
While he was still in US to foster a relationship between the US and Nigeria government on how to boost the economy and solve the security issues the nation particularly that of the state he presides over ,Imo State, some association or loyalists of Gov.Okorocha-Clinton Rochas Okorocha erected a billboard with the caption ‘A True Igbo Leader” with the photo of him and Obama shaking hands.
The said picture depicts shallowness and portrays the governor as a new comer in international politics. Having a handshake with the most powerful politician in the world is not an achievement and does not call for the raising of the roof.
People who have seen the sight on facebook have called the governor and its government all sorts of unprintable names. Some are even throwing jives at each other over the same issue that has nearly turned to cyber tribal war.
One of the concerned citizens of the country, Justin Akpovi was so bitter about the billboard and was forced to leave an open letter for Gov. Rochas.
Governor Rochas should as a matter of grave urgency order the demolition of the billboard showing him and President Obama of America in a handshake.
I quite understand that it was the work of sycophants and hustlers who want to use the picture and Okorocha’s visit to Obama to open a new ‘office’ in Imo State, but the fact that the billboard (s) is still standing shows the Gov is on the same page with the so called ‘group’ that erected it.
Just so you know sir, the billboard puts Nigeria in a bad light as backward and primitive people who will celebrate a common handshake with the president of another country.
Is Governor Rochas Okorcha the first governor or eastern governor to have been so opportune to be in the presence of world leader or have a handshake with such? If we pride our self as well travelled and well read people, then this patronising act that bereft good reasoning nullifies such claim.
As you are reading this, the billboard still stands with pride. We hope Governor Rocha is reading this!
