A woman who pepper sprayed a
Walmart employee while attempting to abscond with a shopping cart full of
stolen goods has been captured in Florida.
Florida authorities arrested
Kahala Johnson after Duluth police learned she had fled home to Jacksonville
Oct. 9 where she was staying with her mother.
The victim in this case was
notified of the arrest, and she was grateful to know Ms. Johnson was off the
streets and no longer posed a danger to anyone, a police officer said.
Police say Johnson loaded up a
shopping cart full of items at a Duluth, Georgia Walmart just before 6 a.m. on
Oct. 9.
A female Walmart employee who
tried to stop Johnson was sprayed in the face with mace, but fortunately she
was able to identify Johnson from an earlier shoplifting incident.
A video of her brazen theft was also broadcasted on local news stations which also helped in tracking her down fast.
