[PROFILE] SHEGZY DLI, A SOUTH AFRICAN BASED NIGERIAN ARTIST

Shegzy DLI, a multi-talented music artist with knowledge of acting and Fashion, was born into the royal family of Fagbemi in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government (Igbesa Ogun state). He can be called an aries with “swag” and lots of Fashion sense.
Real name Oluwasegun Fagbemi, he is from a humble Christian background and he spent his childhood days in Egbeda/Ikotun area of Lagos state Nigeria. Shegzy loves to spend lots of time alone and also love to do things stealthily and unnoticed, then bringing the finished product forth, hence came he added “Don’t Loud It” to his nickname. He is from a family of four where he happened to be the second born.

His interest for music was noticed as a bud in him while he was in High School due to his ardent interest in music programs, chart shows, and music Videos. He can be said to belong to the generation of artists that developed interest in singing by the influence of listening to who they most idolize. Usher Raymond was his idol while growing up; a constant follow up of what Usher does was what he used in building himself up in terms of singing and dancing.

Shegzy attended BAJET Primary school in Egbeda and Queen Maris Secondary school in Ijegun area of Lagos state. Shegzy was a student of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, but didn’t wait to finish up. Shegzy left NIPR for South Africa to see music from another view.  He is in South Africa to do music with a different feel from the conventional way he has been doing it back home in Nigeria.

Aside music, Shegzy also have passion for football which is what he started with but later settled for music his new found love. Unlike so many artists, Shegzy has the support of his both parents to do what he has passion for as regards singing. He has the plan to bring something new to the music Industry and to make changes that will impact on other artists to do things differently. He sees himself doing music the way he would love it to be in the next 3 years, having it in mind to be a motivational speaker also by then.
Shegzy enjoys spending moments alone, reading, listening to music, giving, travelling and he can be called a fashion freak. He idolizes the likes of Usher, 2face, Jason Derulo, John Legend. He has worked with Producers like: Mystro , C-tea (from Ghana), Ugo Flow (Cape Town, South Africa), Sure Boi, Dr Jazz(Pretoria, South Africa). Shegzy hope to do music with producers like: Master Kratf, Del B, Sarz, and Don Jazzy in the future. He also hope to do songs with 2Face Idibia, Chris Brown and Rihana.
