The Stars Sing at the Ovation Red Carol and Awards

The annual christmas event "Ovation Red Carol" by Ovation Magazine was held yesterday at the prestigious Eko convention centre in Eko Hotel with a new introduction of "Awards" in their activity. 

With all the promised stars and personalities present, and hosted by popular Comedian and Tv talk host, AY, it was thrilling from the red carpet to the end of the show.

Performances from Davido, who acknowledged his dad seated at the event, Mavin crew who performed individually, 6 years old upcoming artiste, OC Bosco supported by his dancing siblings on stage, Walia from the UK, talented Waje who played live, delectable Goldie, and many others all made the evening an exciting and memorable one.

Not surprisingly, the Mavin crew bagged most of the awards in the music category, with Tiwa Savage winning Female artiste of the year, Don Jazzy for Icon of music production of the year though he claimed he hasn't done much works this year, however Young African Act of 2012 was bagged by Davido, who claimed the award is about the tenth (10) award he would receive within a year of him venturing into the music industry

The Non Nigerian Artist for the year went to Sarkodie from Ghana, which wasn't much surprise as the magazine boss also resides in Ghana

Masters of ceremonies was given to the notable King of comedy Ali Baba, the Sport personality of the year went to Steven Kechi,

Best Reportorial to Sahara Reporters. Though the awards were mostly presented by Funmi Iyanda and AY, River State Governor, Rotimi Ameachi presented Prof. Bartholomew Nnaji the award for Leader of Hope.

Last on stage after all the hiphip activities was Shina Peters who played his popular hits Live on stage.

 All in all, it was a thrilling and memorable Carol night, however it's still a wonder why it was tagged Award instead Recognition. Nevertheless it might not be considered a flaw as it was overlooked by many with the excitement of the evening.
