Actress Kemi Afolabi Loses Pregnancy After Nigerian Thugs Beat Her Up On Movie Set

Few days ago it was reported that Yoruba star actress Kemi Afolabi's movie set was disrupted by thugs popularly known as Area Boys in Ikorodu Nigeria. 

Latest on the Nollywood actress, Kemi Afolabi is that she is unable to walk and still hospitalised following the Sunday attack on her while on set of new movie, Esan.



Report has learnt that the actress who was pregnant with her second child for UK-based lover, Wale Adesipe, lost the pregnancy following the incident that left her bleeding.

‘Kemi is still in the hospital, she couldn’t walk and she’s lost her pregnancy,’ an insider told us.
The actress’ spokesperson earlier revealed that Kemi is in the hospital receiving treatment.
Kemi Afolabi got in a street fight with area boys during the shoot of new movie ‘Esan’.

‘She is presently in the hospital receiving treatments, one of the hoodlums hit her in the tummy and since then she’s been bleeding.’

Meanwhile, the thugs that attacked the cast and crew of Esan – directed by Ijaduade Azeez – are presently living large in Ikorodu, Lagos where the incident happened on Sunday, March 12, 2017.

Ijaduade, who recently completed the movie shoot, branded the hoodlums ‘murderers’ for killing an unborn child in a phone conversation.

‘They slapped the production manager, and then hit Kemi Afolabi and myself in the stomach. Kemi started bleeding and she went to change her cloth before she came out again as seen in the video online,’ Ijaduade explained.


He also lost his iPhone 6 Plus and the ‘valuable’ jewellery he wore at the time during the fight.

And according to him, the Nigerian Police Force are expected to storm the event scene tomorrow, March 17 to arrest the folks responsible for the damages they suffered.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), and Theatre and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria (TAMPPAN) are yet to address the developing issue.

We hope something is done about this case and not swept aside by the police.
