Saving Lives Through Food Distribution In The Church

An hungry man is an angry man. When a man eats good food, he is happy and creative.

Ronke arrived New York and started attending an African church, why? !!, because they share food after service. The delicious Nigerian jollof rice and fried rice is nothing comparable to the subway and burger she eats weekdays at work.

Soon after, she started paying more attention to the sermons and found the testimonies motivating. She thus became an active member and a church worker.

However, she was also waiting for a miracle and in a short while, she received it and became one of the food distributors in the church, donating richly. 

Even in the business world of today, it is very easy to attract clients but difficult to keep them. Food is the key to the heart, that is why some men can't quarrel with their wives for so long, if the wives know how to cook well. 

How many preaching did Peter did when Jesus was on earth in human form, Peter was a Fisher man till he bacame Fisher of men, how do you catch a fish, you will put food in your hook, the fish will come for the food and get hooked, same thing the disciples did when they fed the 5 thousand people and the people heard the Word from Jesus and got hooked to salvation. 'Mark 6:34-44'. 

If food wasn't important, Jesus wouldn't have performed the miracle to feed them.

It is sad that these days even people in the church don't want to associate with church members that are not of their social status. They see poverty in the eye of their brethren and choose to look away, even if they have the solution to that brethren's problem. Gone are the days a new neighbor is welcomed with food and gifts, these days people are living a life of mind your own business and rude is new swag. 

Some pastors too prefer to associate with only the affluent members of their congregation instead of praying for the ones going through challenges. 

The manifestation of the Holy Spirit is not just by blowing tongues; do you have love, compassion, and kindness? Do you care ? Who you epp? 

We know that the Bible says that man shall not live by bread alone but it also recorded that God provided manna for the Israelites in the desert so that proves He is concerned about our stomach as well. 

Some brothers and sisters are always fasting, but if you do your research, you will find out they have no food to eat so they decide to glorify God in hunger and use the opportunity to be in the Lord. Give them food, they will break it.

The money used in buying private jets and living luxury lifestyles can be used to help the less privileged in their congregation. The poorest member of a church should be as rich as the pastor. 

Jesus said "feed my sheep", not preach to my sheep, you can preach to the goats and feed them when they become sheep.

 Malachi 3:10; "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house". Ask your pastors, but then, most use it only for their own purposes without caring for those in need the Lord has put in their care. 

Pastors don't need to chase members to join their church, if they can just give raw foodstuff to members and visitors to last a week, they will keep coming every week, and invite their friends and family to partake there, the Lord himself will bless his people and the church shall grow in numbers and prosperity.

I visited a church once in Abuja and was treated to a 3 course meal after service, and also got a gift bag, why won't I recommend the church to others, or want to visit that church again if I happen to be in that territory. No reason not to!!!. 

Panam Percy Paul, gospel singer and music producer on a 3 days visit to Los Angeles, California, US shared that "the church is the only organization that can solve the problems of this world. Food for all, no government can do it,  only the church can do it. Education for all, no government can do it, only the church can do it."

A church should be a place of solace, a place of solution, where the hungry can go and get fed, but government organizations have taken over, so why won't they have control over the church. 

Let us love one another, feed someone on Sunday and let God reward you. Only the church can do it.
