Nigerian Philanthropist and Politician Dr. Mike Oluwafemi Omotosho (Omotosure) Passes on

Dr Mike Oluwafemi Omotosho, Nigerian philanthropist and former Labour Party chairman also known as Omotosure is dead. 

He passed on after a brief illness in the East Coast, United States on June 4, 2022. 
Omotosho was the Governor of Rotary International between 2015 to 2016 in some parts of Nigeria covering the whole of North West, North East, North Central, South West excluding Lagos and Ogun states. 

Omotosure contested in the 2015 general elections in Kwara State where he came third in the polls. He however became the Chairman of the Labour Party of Nigeria from 2015 to 2016.  His mother was reportedly abducted in 2017. 

His nonprofit organization, Mike Omotosho Foundation was initiated to alleviate poverty and empower youths through training and community development programmes.

Through his foundation, over 200 rural community members have been trained on various vocational skills and has provided 10 million naira micro credit scheme to empower 300 women to start their small businesses.

Also in Kwara State, 500 youths from different local governments were trained on employable skills while 150 indigent students from both primary and secondary schools are also on scholarship scheme from the foundation.

He was the president of Hepatitis Zero Nigeria Commission. His foundation carried out medical mission in 12 communities in four local governments in Kwara State and distributed free drugs, wheelchairs, and mosquito nets in 2014, catering to over 5,000 community members.

 In 2017, over 8,000 people benefited from another program from his nonprofit. 
 
Dr Omotosho is remembered for his philanthropic works. All he wanted to do politically and personally was to alleviate his Nigerian people from poverty and ensure they had access to good healthcare.
