De Progeny Campaign and Competition, a village cooking competition by Ethel Women Initiative is currently ongoing in a camp in Edo State, Nigeria.
The 2019 first edition of the lcompetition began it's five day camp on January 23, with seven female contestants.
The contestants have been involved in various rural activities since their arrival at the camp like grass cutting and ground clearing, early morning jog, cooking with clay pots and basically living life outside civilization.
The competition sets to empower women to live to their fullest potential no matter their social status. The uniqueness of De Progeny is that the young contestants have to compete in an unusual environment, far from their comfort zone.
Contestants for the 2019 competition are Ivie Anita Akuewanbhor, 26, Edo State, Echenua Ebele Helen, 24, Delta State, Victoria Daniel, 25, Anambra State, Asiegbu Amara Victoria, 29. Anambra State, Karina Ogoro, 24, Bayelsa State, Loveth Brown Amarachi, 19, Abia State, Clarke Bella Chioma, 20, Delta State.
The first three winners are set to go home with prizes which include kitchen appliances as it is a cooking competition.
