Nick Cannon Collapse Over Mariah Carey's £8m Engagement Ring

When you are a certified diva and you romance a billionaire, your love story unfolds around the globe. Newly engaged Mariah Carey and James Packer’s whirlwind relationship sparked in Los Angeles, but has taken them everywhere from Aspen to his native Australia.

Packer, 48, popped the question to Carey Thursday night in New York City. The two started dating over the summer after meeting at the Herculespremiere in Aspen, Colorado, and Carey hasn't stopped gushing over himsince.

Cannon and Carey, 45, filed for divorce in December 2014 after six years of marriage. While their relationship was rocky directly following the split, they have since overcome their differences and are on good terms for the sake of their children, 4-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan. The two even spent the holidays together, with both sharing photos from their family gathering on social media.

Shortly after news of Carey's engagement broke, photos of the "We Belong Together" singer's massive 35-carat diamond sparkler costing about £8m was revealed, one of the biggest and most expensive rocks ever worn by a celebrity.

All told, the impressive rock, designed by Wilfredo Rosado, is one of the biggest rings on the planet, besting Elizabeth Taylor’s famous ring, and outshining other big-name celebs’ bling — Jennifer Aniston wears a 10-carat ring, Kim Kardashian rocks a 15-carat stunner, and Beyonceflaunts an 18-carat diamond.

However, the Internet being the #nochill zone that it is, people started creating memes utilizing Carey's ex, Nick Cannon, and how he was probably feeling following the news.
