The arrest of mastermind’s father was confirmed by SSS spokesperson, Mrs Marylyn Ogar, during a press briefing at the National Orientation Agency in Abuja. She explained that the man was arrested due to breaching the bond, which he signed while taking his son’s bail in 2012.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, Frank Mba, welcomed the development, promised that the retired military man would answer for his inability to meet the bail bond. According to its terms and conditions the father was obliged to produce his son for questioning, when required.
It would be recalled that the five suspects of the deadly Abuja bomb blast have already been paraded by the SSS. The men admitted their participation in the terrorist attack. Their relation to the second (May Day) bomb blast in the area is under investigation.
At the same time, a suspected mastermind of the bombings, a Boko Haram commander known as Rufai Abubakar Tsiga is still on the run.
