Two men who allegedly abducted a 17-year-old girl were remanded by an Abule Egba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Monday.
The case was adjourned to March 19 until the girl would appear before the court.
The duo, Oliver Monday, 34, and Solomon Okoro, 36, are facing a
seven-count charge bordering on abduction, assault, conspiracy, damage
and rape.
According to the Prosecutor, the offences were committed between October 2013 and February 2014 at Monday’s residence.
The teenager was abducted for the purpose of sexual exploitation and
the prosecutor, Nicholas Akpene, claimed that Monday abused the girl.
The girl’s parents tried all they could to find her but with no
success until one of their relatives saw the girl with one of the man.
When Monday discovered that the girl’s parents were going to police, he went to their house in the company of Solomon Okoro.
Two men threatened to kill the members of the family if they reported
to the police and damaged some of their electronics appliances.
The offences contravened Sections, 141, 137, I71, 259, 267, 348 and 409 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
However both of the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Oliver Monday, a trader, lives at 11, Araromi St., Oko-Oba, and
Solomon, a trader, lives at 7, Isheri Road, Ojodu, Berger, near Lagos.
