GBOOF - Sound of Hope

Egbulefu Chinedu (known by his stage name: Chinedu - Gboof born in Lagos, December 7, 1981), is a Nigerian Singer, Music Producer, Sound Engineer and Song Writer whose popularity came on the rise after his gospel music video (KWASA) was nominated under the Best Highlife Video category of the 2010 Nigerian Music Video Awards (NMVA). The video was also nominated under the Best Gospel Music Video category in the African Gospel Music Awards (AGMA) held in London.  Just by listening to his music, one would notice tight vocal harmonies and R&B arrangements. This has carved a niche for his singing and music production style. In all his songs, he passionately and relentlessly pours energy and life into them leaving you with a profound sense/feeling of his artistry.

Over the years, he has gained lots of experience working with various artistes, choirs, music producers and Acappella groups like Dekumzy, PITA, Rotimi Akinfenwa, Olaitan Dada, Joan Ekpai, J Martins, Faze, Sound Sultan, Dj Zeez, Nigga Raw and Klint Da Drunk, Freewindz, Black Face, Marvelous Benji, Axios Acappella Chorale, Uchay and other upcoming acts too numerous to mention. In addition, he has produced jingles for several multinational companies and advertising agencies such as: Procter and Gamble (Ariel Detergent, Bonux, Lemon Plus, and Vicks Apple Plus), Diamond Bank (Savings Extra - Salary for life), Skye Bank (Savers Promo), Malta Guinness, Corridors (NTA Channel 10), Fluco Day.
On a typical day at the studio you would see him making beats, blending harmonies, singing backup vocals and mixing. Currently he has two (2) albums in the market. The first album titled ‘Kwasa’ touches wide range of musical genres ranging from R&B, Afro-Pop, Soul, Hi-life and Reggae music once again giving evidence for his musical versatility. The second album titled ‘Soar High’ is one that I would describe as a MUST HAVE for EVERY Christian home as its songs are TRULY and highly inspiring; simple but having deep lyrical content with profound harmony structure that just soothes your mind and body.

There’s never a dull moment when you’re with a guy like this because for him, music is not all about the fame, the cash or the hype but more about enjoying the art, touching lives and spreading hope messages which is why he recently organized a competition offering to record for free the best ten (10) artistes with the most creative and inspiring song. This competition has brought to light new talented artistes like Emily, Jaygo, Dipson, Tony and more.
