The proportion of these situations seem to be weighted very much on prospective contesters’ inclinations to contest, which always limit enthusiasm, their interests wane and focuses are shifted.
These political situations end up beating any initial enthusiasm emanated out of candidate desires to serve his people, having observed some gaps that need filling. This experience often leaves the candidate with no options than to resign to the drudgery of settling for unchallenged defeat mindset.
In a context of open and honest political contests in Nigeria, concerns are being expressed, by the electorates, that failure to focus more on credible candidates to run the affairs of Nigeria smoothly may place Nigeria in a string of development stagnancies.
This poses a dilemma that often emerges.
Godfathers give political freebies to prospective contesters that lack personality credibility to perform political mandates set in line with citizens’ expectations.
The candidate with credible and tested professional background faces roadblock on his path of performing the political mandates set to serve humanity.
PDP’s predominantly presence in the Delta state’s political arena remains arduous tasks for other parties, especially the APC. The party’s knowledge of the political terrain in the state gives them an edge over other political parties. This development has frustrated the measure of their effort to be in control of power, a feat that may likely be an infinite illusion if necessary strategies are not applied.
The recent state of APC is clearly working against the party’s efforts to break through the stronghold of PDP.
Two powerful individuals, Olorogun O‘tega Emerhor and Chief Great Ogboru, that are the foundation pillar of the party may be vying for the governorship position in the next year’s election. Instead of pushing for their personal ambitions, it is advised by some quarters that they should wake up to kick up their scale of intentions for the ambitions of the political party to control power in the state.
This can only be achieved by neutral, but influential, individual is brought onboard to take up the ticket for the next year polls. With the brimming future that awaits the party, Comrade Sunny Ofehe may be the best candidate for this position. His track records speak volume of his selfless interests to serve his people in Niger Delta region.
To give up one’s self-interest for the greater cause of serving humanity remains the hardest decision to make in today’s world where greed and oppressions take the dominant part of average people’s lifestyles. Comrade Sunny’s regal of legacy is ingrained in his ultimate selfless acts over the years.
He is daring a terrain that is specifically trudged by the powerful politicians where their ranks are brimming with power and influence. He may not be an astute politician yet he understands the fundamental of people’s needs in the Delta State. He is not only an advocate for better lives of his people; he is also well connected in major parts of the world to bring in more investments to the State and create more employment and improve the economic empowerment of the State.
This brings to the conclusion that attention to the particular needs of the electorates is considered to be disproportionate due to different ambitions. Political equity is an issue and challenging to promote as much choice as possible in the context of equalities. The need for assertive attempts to engage with individuals that is more congruent to people’s voices is also paramount. Comrade Sunny’s personality dominates the scope of this suggestive approach.
If APC truly has an intention of edging over other parties in Delta State, Comrade Sunny is the best contending candidate for this purpose.
