Senate President Bukola Saraki Goes Spiritual, His Wife Resorts To Alcohol

Trending online is that turmoil is brewing behind the smiling façade the amiable Senate President puts up publicly.

Apparently, as uneasy lies the head that wears the crown,  he must be regretting scheming his way to power, against the wishes of his party, the All Progressives Party, as the seat is now appearing hotter than he had envisaged. For several weeks now, he has been in the eye of the storm over some obvious crimes of the past in anticipation for corrupt enrichment, having been alleged to falsely declare his assets, contrary to constitutional requirement.

On assets declaration, he was accused of deliberately manipulation the form that he filled prior to his assumption of office as the governor of Kwara State, by making anticipatory declaration of assets, as well as operating foreign bank accounts while in office as a public servant. His actions were classified as a gross violation of the Fifth Schedule of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended.

Presently, as gossips are spreading that, the Senate President has resorted to spiritual approach and succor to wriggle out of the mess which is taking new legal and constitutional dimension on a daily basis. So, in his spirited bid to retain his seat as number three man and leader of the National Assembly, he has had to seek help elsewhere outside the court, hence the spiritual option.

In the same vein, his alleged sins are so damning that even his lawyers, Senior Advocates for that matter, have had to severally opt out of the case on two different occasions, given the gravity of the heavy corruption-laden charges. Information at our disposal revealed that the embattled medical doctor-turned-politician is leaving no-stone-unturned to get out of the ugly situation unscathed. He has reportedly gone to seek succor with spiritualists, mostly Muslim marabouts Alfas as they are publicly known.

Sources exposed that the Senate President is not relying on the instrument of law and justice alone to wash himself off the monumental corruption charges. As he had always done in the past during his two terms as Kwara state governor, he has allegedly employed the services of powerful Islamic clerics and foreign marabouts to intercede for him, just like his father, late Senator Olusola Saraki, the undisputable godfather of Kwara politics, was said to have brazenly done in the days of yore.

Through Urban Life, it was revealed, most of these clerics are said to have been brought in from neighbouring African countries like Senegal, Mali and Niger, and are aggressively using their supernatural talismanic powers and otherwise to twist the matter in favour of Saraki. ‘The support he is getting on a platter of gold from the National Assembly cannot be said to be ordinary, as it is not impossible that he may have hypnotised the men through spiritual and diabolical means to continue to predominate over them’, a source quipped.

Worsening the situation is that his dear wife, Toyin’s alleged above average-social-drinking and smoking-lifestyle is not abating as she is said to be in daily habitual consumption of alcohol.

Insiders squealed that despite her delicate health, Toyin still soaks her inside alcohol almost every time, to the extent that she has now constituted a disgrace to herself, embattled husband and the entire family.
