Christian Boko Haram Member Arrested

The Nigerian army has recorded another success in the fight against Boko Haram as another deadly member of the group has been apprehended.  The Boko Haram kingpin was arrested in Maiduguri, Borno state.

The notorious Boko Haram member known as John Trankil has been on the Army list of wanted Boko Haram members for his many atrocious crimes. Many believe he is a Christian working with the Islamist sect as his name suggests.

Headquarters said troops of 7 Division Garrison Nigerian Army in Operation, LAFIYA DOLE, arrested, Mr John Trankil, at Kasuwar Shanu in Maiduguri metropolis.

Preliminary investigation revealed that nine terrorists sneaked into Maiduguri armed with AK 47 assault rifles and a Hilux vehicle laden with 20 Improvised Explosive Devices meant to be detonated at some selected targets in the city.

The statement did not indicate if all members of the deadly gang were arrested.
