Musician and Aspiring Politician Dibang Out to Grab Opportunities

It takes grace to be a shining light in a dark world and most people would do anything to have the fame and fortune that comes with it. While some ease in with spiritual support, others physically hustle till they succeed.
Emmanuel Igbamidara who chose the stage name Dibang is a student of Federal University of Lagos State (UNILAG) who has established his passion in music.

Also popularly known as Grace Boy, he has been ministering to both Christian and secular music lovers with his genre of gospel music. Dibang officially found his calling to music in 2015 though he had been a true lover of music right from childhood. While some singers venture into the music industry without any background knowledge of music studies or any music instrumental skills, Dibang is quite versatile as a keyboardist.

“I am a true lover of good music right from my childhood. I remember back then, with what I have experienced in life right from my childhood, I so much have it in mind that I need to let the world know what I have passed through. I always wanted to be a public figure.  so the best way I think I can do that is to go into music,” Dibang shared with Olori Wendy Blog.

He also disclosed that most of his nephews are instrumentalists, while motivates him, and stirs his believe that his dreams can be achieved by his inspirations. Dibang is no greenhorn when it comes to music experience, as he released his first album in 2016. He has been ministering in churches and Christian events afterwards.

Dibang likewise shared that his previous album happened unexpectedly to the surprise of many. He said that he believed that was how God wanted it to be and it was just a sign to show that indeed he was truly called for music ministering mission.  An incident at a church program prior to the release of his first album gave him the conviction he was in the right path and it was God’s will for him.

“A friend invited me to a church program. Typically, whenever I am in the presence of God; I do not like being a bench warmer so I just wanted to do something and I went straight to the altar. The congregation stared at me as I approached the keyboardist and requested to assist him on the keyboard which he obliged. That was how I started playing during the worship session at the deliverance program. My music got the attention of the man of God, and he brought me out to the altar and prophesied that he saw me holding a microphone and that would come to pass in my life. I had never met the prophet before that incident but his prophesy came to pass six months later as I released my first album ‘Great Things’ which I launched in the same church as a testimony, and to confirm the purpose of God for my life.”

However, Dibang has been on his music journey without any record label, sponsors or support. He disclosed that he had been pulling through by his persistent and his faith in God.
Nevertheless, he is currently working on a new project which he believes his fans will be impressed at, as each of the song will definitely be a hit.

The Grace Boy further expanded on his future plans stating he would like to expand his horizons by jumping in feet first and learning as much as he can, and as quickly as he can, in the industry. He would then henceforth seek out opportunities to expand his knowledge through training and educational opportunities to support his career. He wishes to likewise participate in at least one project geared towards leadership training because he does not just envisage himself as a famous entertainer but also sees himself as the future president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Overall, Dibang is working towards achieving that mission and grabbing every opportunity that arises along the way. He understands that the entertainment industry has a strong volunteer team, and he would like to be an active participant of that team. In addition, he would  like to be considered for a supervisory or management level position. Grace Boy with all faith  is hoping against all odds to shine among the stars and benefiting the fame and fortune that comes as added privileges.
