Elizabeth Era, A Positive Brand Shares To The World (interview)

Meeting Elizabeth Era through a mutual friend, I discovered during the time of our acquaintance which developed into friendship that she is one of the most hardworking, decent and inspiring female media and entertainment personnel I have ever met. With her many busy positive activities in the industry, one would wonder if she has time to breathe.
Meet Elizabeth Era, a positive activist, in an exclusive interview with Olori Wendy, sharing details of her life and career.

Who is Elizabeth Era in the media and entertainment industry, is that your birth name?

Elizabeth Era is a producer, presenter and a public speaker, and yes, Elizabeth Era is my birth name.

What have you been involved in?

I have been involved in a couple of jobs for the past 2 years, first was my TV show Unveil With Lizzy TV Show, which was on Edo broadcasting television in Edo state, second was my tribal quizz and debate competition, internet radio. I also organize talk shows in schools for secondary school students. I likewise have my book  on which I wrote and authored on career choice which is titled "Career Path Via Self Assessment", the web version will be out soon, I have also produced a couple of skits and short films.

Career wise, I own a media outfit which is called LizGold Global Media and what I do basically with this company is enlighten, educate, inspire and empower the Nigeria Youths and teenagers all over the world, through various platforms and channels we have created in the company.

What is your TV and radio show all about, what inspired them?

My first TV show which we are currently making into a series, is about our everyday lives, experiences and also teaching us not to make same or some mistakes someone else has made in life, and the second is on consumer information which is currently running on Radio in Edo State, KU92.7FM every Saturday at 8:30am - 9:00am.

My inspiration for the first programme was drawn from the events in our day to day lives, a lot of us youths want to go through the fast lane in life and not minding the consequences of their actions...it hurts to watch your friends and loved ones die or get hurt both psychologically and otherwise due to their own mistakes.  The second programme is on consumer information, I realized that most Nigerians finds it had to find out details or get proper and complete information on products and services before they decide to go for it, so I decided to start a campaign on that and the best way to get them to be part of it, is through this means, since most of us don't really like reading.

You seem to have touched a lot of lives, what are your charitable works about?

I do what I do because I believe in order to make this world a better place and draw many to GOD, you have to show love and kindness to people in practical terms, not just in words.  I won't be mentioning all I have done here, because I do it because it is part of my life, not to be praised by any individual.  I love keeping that aspect of my life from the public eye.

You were in Koko mansion, was that your entry into the entertainment industry and why did you participate in it?

I was in Koko Mansion and no, it wasn't my entry into the entertainment industry, before I got into Koko mansion I was already doing my thing.  I participated because I wanted an avenue to gain more grounds and reach out to more people.

In what way did it influence your career?

I learned a lot in the house and also learn how to deal with different kind of characters and individuals, in my line of business, it's very imperative that you understand the minds of the individuals you approach daily.

Is this what you have always wanted to do, or you waltz into the industry by chance?

This has always been where I want to be, I started long before I even got to the age of 15. I love my career and never for once have I thought of doing something else.

Are your family in support of your career, and have you lost or made friends as a result?

Well, of a truth not everyone in my family love what I do, in fact, some of them thinks this job is too exposing giving my kind of person. I have lost friends and also gained friends, it is normal, not everyone will want to go with you in your life's pursuit.

You seem to write a lot of feminism stories, are you one? what's your plan and view on marriage, and are you interested in settling down, if yes, with who?

Yeah I do write such stories, yes am an advocate for women, but I am totally not of the opinion of women equating with men, because right from the foundation of the earth, GOD has made men head over us.  All I want is for them to treat us right and respect us.

Marriage to me is like prison yard where you are free but not free, having someone to lean on and also a running mate. because doing it alone is always more tedious than when you have a team.

Yes, I will settle down at the right time and with the right man by GOD's Grace.  A man who is ready and willing to support my vision and understand that my life is sold out to changing lives positively all over Nigeria and the world at large.

What do you do for leisure? is there any other business or projects you are running besides your media/entertainment?

Leisure, I read, travel, watch Korean movies and sometimes listen to good music. I have other businesses I do aside my media/entertainment and I work also.
